"Untitled Room" O.O
Herro Jammers!
Quinn here, with a very awesomely weird glitch thing...
I don't know if you have heard of this yet, but sometime yesterday, someone entered the "Untitled Room" and then invited their buddies...the "Untitled Room" was soon as crowded as Jamaa Township!
A HUGE, HUGE thank you to my friend Avvy G/funplay1, who invited me to come in to the room, and after about 10 minutes, I got in. :)
Here are a couple of screenshots:
Basically, the Untitled Room was a big, black space with glowing purple flowers down the middle. :3
In the time Avvy and I were there, a lot of people, non members and members, well known and not, came and went.
I don't have any video making programs, but here is a video Snowyclaw posted on her blog....see if you can find Yours Truly!
(Hint--NM WOLF IN A GREEN BEANIE :P)

Super Annoying Things on Animal Jam #2: Those People
Hullo Jammers!
I can't really think of a name for the people I am thinking of that is short enough to fit into the title, so here it is:
People who buddy you just so they can ask you for an item (begging) or try and pressure you into accepting a trade or something similar.
I'm not going to do a huge long thing on it this time...:3
Has anyone else dealt with this before?

Post This, Not That!
Hey Jammers!
I was thinking and reading blogs (I was just thinking, not thinking blogs :P), and I came up with the idea for this post...
It seems like when people post certain things, they tend to get certain reactions...for example, by accusing someone of scamming, that person may turn up and deny it, as will his/her buddies and such.
So, here is a quick guide for new bloggers, as well as old bloggers (if they find it helpful), on what is good to post, and what not.
POST THIS:
Daily Update blogs:
I was thinking and reading blogs (I was just thinking, not thinking blogs :P), and I came up with the idea for this post...
It seems like when people post certain things, they tend to get certain reactions...for example, by accusing someone of scamming, that person may turn up and deny it, as will his/her buddies and such.
So, here is a quick guide for new bloggers, as well as old bloggers (if they find it helpful), on what is good to post, and what not.
POST THIS:
Daily Update blogs:
- The new item, as frequently as you can
- Big posts on Update Day
- Little mysteries and things, after the daily item, to interest your readers
- Contests! Draw in new readers!
Random Stuffz blogs (like this one):
- Covering drama and tings (ONLY if you do it in an unbiased way. That is one of the key points of reporting...)
- Cool graphics, if and when you find them
- Contests! Everyone loves a good contest!
- Cool things you have found in Jamaa
- Fun events that you held in your den (fashion show, trivia contest, party, etc.)
NOT THAT:
Daily Update blogs:
- A two-line post (as it shows up on the Blogger Dashboard should NOT be a regular thing. Only if you don't have much time, are sick, need to make a quick announcement, etc. If your regular post looks something like this "Today's new item is the _____. Comment what you think about it!" probably needs to have some stuff added to it.
- A huge, long explanation of why you didn't post, and then one line saying the new item.
Random Stuffz blogs:
- Detailed explanations of why you are rare, or rarer than _______. Doesn't look good.
- The new item, just because you are bored or are out of ideas for what to post.
Here are some tips in general:
- Don't remove comments unless they have swearing, or inappropriateness in them. If it is a hate comment, calmly reply, countering their argument, or something similar. Example: Hater: "Ok, that is SO not what happened. (Blah-blah-detailed explanation of what they think really happened in the drama story.) So shut your mouth. So-and-so is a super nice person. >:(" You: "Well, so-and-so scammed my Beta Old Blanket before, and she swore at me in comments, so (moar stuff)" If you get what I'm saying. :)
- If you are doing a report on a drama story/fight/scam story, try and stay unbiased, unless you were involved. This means:
- Don't state your opinion, unless you clearly stated above that it was an opinion post. Example: Covering vms915 vs. SecretiveUnicorn (a made up person, although that is a sweet username :P): "Here's the story: SecretiveUnicorn, a well known blogger, supposedly accused vms915 of being mean and saying mean things. Vms defended herself by saying that Secretive was talking to her impersonater, vms9I5, who was dressed exactly like her." Get the idea? Do NOT do something like this: "OMG SecretiveUnicorn, my idol cuz shez soooooooo rare, was sworn at by vms915, a huge jerk-face #!(#&!@$&!@#($&#@!$*@#*$&#&$@!" I know that was a stupid example, but anywhoo...:3
- Try and include screenshots/videos, if possible.
- Don't start drama to get pageviews and comments. More often than not, you will get pageviews, but not comments, or, at least, positive ones, if you are accusing another person of something without proof.
- Don't make stuff up. I'm not talking about a made-up name or birthday, but making up things that didn't really happened, similar to above. Example: "vms915 scammed my tan carpet!!!!" This does get you attention for many reasons (not the least of which is that I have never seen a tan carpet, much less had one. Not the good kind, though.
- If you do Daily Posting, try and post every day. Posting once or twice a week sort of ruins the whole point of Daily Posting.
I hope that helped!
:)

Contest & Contest
Hullo! After the last post (in which aspersions to my sanity were made in the comment section, but I don't really care that much :3), I, to be completely honest, feel a lot better. Sort of like when you have poison in your bloodstream, and the poison is all gone, if you get what I mean.
Anyway....
Contests!
Last contest, a story contest, only had one entry, and that was from SilverDawn. The contest never really ended, and is sort of a mish-mosh...
Here is SilverDawn's super dooper pawesome story!
Anyway....
Contests!
Last contest, a story contest, only had one entry, and that was from SilverDawn. The contest never really ended, and is sort of a mish-mosh...
Here is SilverDawn's super dooper pawesome story!
Rhododendron Waters
Rhododendron Waters is a lush, green land near Mt. Shiveer, above
Appondale. A huge river runs through it. It has rather a rainforest-like
climate, but is too high up to be very hot. Banana trees grow by the river
bank. The grass is fresh and green. Koalas are plentiful in the trees, many
fish swim in the water, and geckos can be seen sunning themselves on the rocks.
The river is beautifully decorated with water-lilies and lotuses. Birds of
Paradise fly above. The Alphas have worked together to create all this beauty,
and the Jammers must work together for it to remain so.
Awesome story!
Since I fail epically, the prizes I first mentioned are no longer available, but, SilverDawn, you win! Your prizes are a Bronze Peck Statue and a Surprised Jack-o-Lantern!
I know those are terrible prizes, and I am sorry!
@ SilverDawn: What account do you want me to send them to?
Moving on, there is to be another contest, but not really a contest. There is going to be a raffle! (credit for the idea goes to the Animal Jam Times Contest Blog)
Here is how it works:
The raffle is starting today, and will be over on the 31st of July. You are allowed to comment one number a day. The numbers MUST be between 1 and 500. On August 1st, I will use a random number picker, and whichever number is closest the first, second, and third times will get the prizes!
What are the prizes, you may ask?
Well, you have a choice:
1st place:
OR
Galleon Graphics Pack
2nd place:
OR
Sickle Graphics Pack
3rd place:
OR
Knut Graphics Pack
You are probably asking what the graphics packs are. I have hand-made some graphics that have not been released before...
If chosen, the owner of the graphics pack prize will get a selection of cool graphics for their blog or other!
I really hope at least one of the winners will choose the graphics pack, because it took me a while to make the graphics. :3
Rules of having a graphics pack:
The graphics CAN ONLY BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING:
- Designing signatures, headers, mini-graphics.
- Picture links
If you have a question about if what you want to do is okay, please ask!
The only reason I am being strict and using Caps lock is because I don't really want these graphics circulating the web, with people saying "Oh yeah, I found these for myself." when they were found on someone's blog who took them from another blog who took them from the person who won them.
Think of it as a rare item:
You want to show it off, but you don't want to go giving it away.
I hope you don't care about this strictness!
Anyway....
Let the numbers fly!

Scratch that last post...
This is probably going to be the last post, until maybe Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. That post will most likely become the last post for a week, because I am going to a soccer camp in the morning, and will be really busy in the afternoon, so.....
But I'll be posting on mah other blogs, just not this one.
Y?
AJ is getting kind of boring...to be perfectly honest, there are only 2 things that keep me on AJ:
1. My awesome buddies, and the long, stimulating conversations we have. :3
2. This blog. It is a lot of fun to post what I do (a whole lot more than New Item posts).
Where as, there are several things that would make me want to go:
1. About 70% of the people who play Animal Jam are idiots. (None of my AJ friends are!)
2. AJHQ's head honcho is probably looking like this:
3. About 70% of the cool features require a membership. A membership seems so pointless, yet being an NM is no fun, because we get NO respect from other players, unless you are just a famous person whose membership expired, or are super-dooper rare, and NO respect from AJHQ, because we don't want to spend $15 on virtual items and respect.
4. Ima gonna be in high school in 2 years. Don't get me wrong, it's not the age thing, it's just that I will have a ton of work (most likely).
5. Minecraft, both single- and multiplayer, is a superior game by far. Superior in sound effects, gameplay, coding, etc.
6. Everybody is so obsessed by rares = scamming and hacking galore = explanation why kids today are how they are. (See #1)
7. AJ is a fun game, but it has no purpose, no sense of reward (I know the rare people will speak up right about now) for accomplishing something. Maybe it has some, but believe me, I'd take hitting a 9-block vein of diamond ore (MC speak FTW!) any day over getting a Founder's Hat.
8. The people (Sort of see #1 & 6). About 90% of the famous people drive me up the wall. Here is how they started: Got a couple of rares either legitimately or by scamming/hacking. Got a YouTube/blog. Started doing vids. People wanted to follow to be part of the cool crowd. Gets more followers. People start sending rares so that they will get called out in vids/posts. Mailtime is invented. Famous people get more famous for saying "Seriously? A red necklace? Psh." and "OMGFOUNDERSHAT" for 10 minutes in a video. People send more and more rare items, in the hope that their item will become the title of the vid.
I'm sorry.
It's pathetic.
Note how no where in there does it mention "Famous people have a skill that makes them famous, e.g. making people laugh."
Maybe that's because on AJ, there is no skill required, therefore, nothing sets these people apart from the rest of us except by what they wear?
Pathetic.
9. (as sort of mentioned above) Animal Jam is teaching us to judge others on what they wear. It is teaching us to value clothing and furniture, tangible commodities, over love, friendship, bravery, and all that good stuff.
Gee. I sure hope they don't put too much hope in to this generation.
If we are "the future"...
I'd hate to say it...
...but we are screwed.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying Minecraft teaches you how to live your life and stuff, I'm just saying, it's better than AJ in the sense that 1. You can choose not to be judged, if you do Singleplayer, and 2. If you do Multiplayer, you are judged on your skill, not your skin (well, sort of, but usually only if your skin is crazy cool. No one's going to come up to you and say "What a stupid skin." [generally]). That is a little more like how we should be judged in real life, if we are to be judged at all.
Yup.
All I'm going to say.
~Quinn~
P.S.
If you have read this post to the end, and are reading this, please know that I did not wish to offend any of my blog readers. I may have inadvertently. Just please note that I was not thinking of anyone in particular when I said that 70% of Jammers are idiots. I was basing it off of my past experiences on Animal Jam. Thank you for your consideration.

Super Annoying Things on Animal Jam #1: Begging
Hey Jammers! This is going to be a sort of rant about an annoying thing in Animal Jam: Begging.
Begging gets on my last nerve.
There are a couple of different forms:
Friend-begging: A buddy you met on AJ and never really talked to noticed you had something on your trade, refuses to make a fair trade for it when you offer one, and asks if you send it to them.
(that was based off of what just happened to me)
Item begging: People saying "send me unwanted items!!!" Seriously?
Gem begging: People can say "send me unwanted items!!!" for two reasons: they want the item, or they want gems that come from recycled items. To those people, let me tell you something: you can get about the same number of gems (and possibly a rare item) playing Sky High or Best Dressed for a few minutes than by begging.
Here are some pics of begging:
(this one can also be considered a scam, but is sometimes [not usually] true.)
Here is a begging story:
I was in my den. Kinyonga came to my den, and we were chatting about who knows what, when a guy appears. I won't say his user. He went up to Kinyonga, and asked her "Can I have your tan carpet? It's my dream item!" (I think it was a tan carpet)
Kinyonga said no (Which is completely understandable....I've said no to people begging for things worth a whole lot less than a tan carpet :3), and that was that.
Note about story: Begging doesn't always have to be "Pretty pretty please?" It can just be someone unreasonably asking you for an item.
Hmm...
That wasn't really an informational post, just something you could possibly relate to. :P

Giveaways?
Hello Jammers!
I am 100% positive not getting an Animal Jam membership again, unless someone buys me one for a gift or something.
Which leaves me with a lot of member items in my inventory, rare and non-rare, in stores and not.
So, what to do with it?
I had an idea....
Why not do some giveaways?
(I'm not going to trade for NM rares, because the only thing I want as of right now is a Green Jamaaliday Scarf, and no one has it.)
Here's how I think it's going to work: a giveaway a month, with a giveaway in October, the blogs' anniversary month, being the rarest item.
So, I need to do an inventory thing checky.
Den items I might give away (once Summer Carnival is over, and according to the season, so I'm not giving away something you can buy)
To qualify for the giveaways, you must be following at least one of my blogs, or visit it and comment regularly, signing with your username (If you don't have a blogger account). I apologize for this if it is inconvenient, but I am giving away items, and two of my blogs (Tales from the Kitteh, Brains and Books) have been sort of stagnant in terms of followers, and I wouldn't mind if you followed!
So...
Should I do giveaways?
~QuinnTheCat/vms915 who added a new username on to her regular user. I wanted to keep my old user, but I wanted a new one, so here is how I compromised!
I'm still vms915 on Animal Jam.

- Maple Leaf Rug
- Acorn Tea Set
- Pencil Table
- Upside Down Table
- Upside Down Window
- Upside Down Tea Set
- Zany Item

- Silly Item
- Phantom Invasion (I know you can buy this, but some members don't want to spend their diamonds on it.)
- Aquamarine Birthstone
- Amethyst Birthstone
- Garnet Birthstone
- Clover Table
- 2 Clover Chairs
- Clover Patch
- 2 Potted Clovers
- Pot O' Gold
- (Blue) Frozen Banner
- 2 Frozen Torches
- Princess Chair
- 2 Heart Couches
- Snowflake Table
- 2 Ice Cube Chairs
- Snow Machine
Here are the clothing items:
- Spirit Helmet
- Lava Glove
- Spirit Armor
- Rare Astronaut Helmet
- Blue Top Hat (Clevercat's own! I'm not sure about this item, but maybe, if the giveaways are popular.)
I know those aren't the greatest items for a giveaway, but I hope they'll suffice!
So, PLEASE comment answering these questions:
Do you want me to do giveaways?
(if yes)
How should I give them away? (1 item a week, 2 items a month, etc.)
Here is the outline for how I think I'm going to do this, if you want me to.
1 den item a week
1 Clothing a month

ScamBusters! (duh-duh-dah-dah-dah!)
Hey Jammers! This is going to be a post about something you can do when you are absolutely bored on AJ!
1. Go to Jamaa Township, or somewhere equally crowded.
2. Find a scammer
Now, here's where the fun begins.
Use your imagination to come up with a way to make the scammer leave/annoy them!
I wouldn't recommend to do the following:
- Go right out and accuse the person of scamming. This ruins the fun. You can accuse them, but only:
- After you have had your fun
- If you are sure he/she is a scammer
- If you do it in a funny/fun way
- Attempt a scam, just to bust the scammer.
Here are some ideas/conversation starters for having fun with scammers:
- Send someone a cheap item, like a necklace
- "No, I don't really feel like it..."
- "Do I have to?"
- "Do you have that item?"
- "Can you show me on your trade list?"
- "YOU CAN'T MAKE ME DO ANYTHING!"
- "You know, I invented that scam"
- Spaz keyboard in front of the person (press all direction keys, so it looks like you are just spazzing out)
- Block the person's username by standing on it
- (if you can) Mimic the person's outfit, colors, animal, and what they say (doesn't have to be the same name)
Have fun with it!

The Legend of Erik
I was bored, so I decided to write a legend! It is about Erik, the Arctic Wolf alpha. Last night, I noticed that there are no alphas for the Lion, the Arctic Wolf, the Snow Leopard, or the Kangaroo.
I'm going to write legends for each respective, made up alpha.
Starting with Erik!
Erik was the leader of his Arctic Wolf pack. Numbering only 20, they lived a hard life, living in Northern Greenland. Every day was a struggle to survive. Food was scarce, and warmth, love, and friendship even more so. The pack all mistrusted each other. They lied, cheated, and stole just to get an extra morsel of food. The only thing holding the pack together was Erik. He was a fair ruler, just too. He never abused his power, what little of it he had, for the pack rarely followed his commands and rules. Yet, somehow, they survived.
One day, when Erik was out hunting for seals, he stepped on thin ice. It cracked, and he was submerged in an icy pool. Erik struggled for breath, and he sank lower, lower, lower into the pool's icy depths. With a slight bump, he touched the bottom. Erik was still struggling for breath, but, with a jolt, realized he could breath normally. A shimmering, blue light appeared a distance from him. He started walking along the rocky pool bottom towards it. It was constantly backing away, until he was at a wall: the pool's steep, abrupt edge. Suddenly the water began to swirl. A gaping hole appeared in the pool's edge. Erik backed away, but it sucked him in, into darkness.
When Erik awoke, he was in a building. He marveled at how he knew this, for he had never heard of the word building, much less been inside of one. Erik was suddenly aware of a creature standing over him. He sprang up. It was a panda. "Are you all right?" she asked gently. He nodded dumbly. "Follow me," the panda said, and, without another word, turned and walked out the door. Erik followed her.
He was in a town square. Colorful buildings rose up on every side. The panda turned to him. "Would you like to be an alpha?"
Erik stared at her. "A what?"
The panda laughed a tinkling laugh. "Silly me, I forgot to tell you. I am Liza, the panda alpha of Jamaa."
"What is-" Erik began to ask, but she cut him off.
"Jamaa is a haven for animals like you and me. It is the alphas' job to protect the animals from dark forces that attempt to penetrate Jamaa. We want you to become an alpha."
"But what about my pack?" Erik asked.
"They can come and live here, if they wish, but they must be honest from now on." Erik nodded.
"I accept your offer."
And so the Arctic Wolves came to Jamaa. Soon, there were about 50 of them. Many of them repented their ways and became honest citizens of Jamaa, but not all. There were still several who lied and cheated, in order to get what they wanted.
Erik looked sadly upon these several Arctic Wolves. One day, he went to Liza and said, "I'm sorry I brought my pack to Jamaa." Liza shook her head.
"You don't have to be. It was I who offered to give them a home in the first place."
"But why can't we just make them leave Jamaa?" Erik persisted.
Liza sighed. "I wish it was that easy. But, already they have spread their evil, not just to other arctic wolves, but to all kinds of creatures in Jamaa." She patted him. "You are an asset to Jamaa. Don't let the antics of your pack trouble you."
Erik soon was revered as one of the kindest alphas, but also as one of the strongest.
Yet, that fateful day when the arctic wolves of Greenland came to Jamaa was a turning point in Jamaa history and culture, although they did not know it then...
I hope you enjoyed that legend!
Soon, I'll do some for the other animals' alphas!
What did you think of that legend?

No More Rumor Has It
Even though I have nothing whatsoever to do with this whole rumor-fighty-thingymabob, I think this one is a whole lot better than the stuff that was happening a while ago...
Know why?
Cause both sides apologized (kind of), or (sort of) admitted error on their part!
You know....
If the people in the world were like this, life would be a whole lot easier....

Rumor Has It
(I didn't steal the post title from Snowyclaw -- we were listening to this song on a cooking camp field trip :P)
I'm not even going to try and make sense of them...
Just curious, what do you think about these rumors?
I will say this, though:
You can't make a fair accusation one way or another without proof.
So, there are those saying Snowyclaw is innocent. Do they have proof?
There are those saying she is guilty. Do they have proof?
I'm DEFINITELY not going to make an opinion on this one....
'cause, like I said, there is no proof either way, except the words of the ones involved...
Which is not always the best proof.
But, do you have proof that proof is bad or good?
It's a vicious, endless chain of proof!
@.@
I need a popsicle....
